Take a March “Break” at the Library

March 8th, 2018

What to do when it’s March Break and the children are already bored?  Where can you go that is open, free and fun for everyone?  Luckily, Bruce County Public Library has a variety of activities to keep the chorus of “I’m bored” at bay!

The Library explores the world of “creepy crawlies” this March Break.  Children can finger knit a snake in Tara, attend an insect story time in Kincardine, build-a-bug in Lucknow, play bingo in Mildmay, create a spider trap in Southampton or attend a live reptile show!  Pawley’s Reptiles brings their collection of crawly critters to Lucknow, Port Elgin, Chesley and Wiarton branches Friday March 16 (check the Library website for times).

New to the Library this March Break is an online reading challenge.  Children have the opportunity to earn digital badges and rewards by tracking their reading, logging activities, visiting the Library or attending a library or Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre program.  Complete the challenges to receive a prize from your local library branch. Registration is easy through the library website and is open for children aged 3-15.  Just a little reading every day will get you to your goal!
