How do I join the library and how much does it cost?
If you are a Bruce County Resident, you can become a member free of charge by completing a library card application at any of our 17 Branch Library locations. Children under the age of 14 must have the signature of a parent or guardian to obtain a Bruce County Public Library Card.
Once you get your library card you can borrow lots of stuff like:
- Video Games
- Audio Books
- And you can access our online homework resources from home!
Did we mention it’s FREE?
We also offer FREE events such as:
- Story Time
- LEGO Club
- Drop in crafts and other maker activities
- Summer Reading Club
- Movie showings
Plus, you can use the computers at the Library to:
- Check email
- Surf the internet
- Explore the Library’s homework help resources and website.
- Use Office software to help with schoolwork
- Play a variety of fun online games
Is there a catch?
Only one – You have to bring the stuff back!
Most items may be borrowed for 3 weeks with the following exceptions:
2 weeks for High Demand books
1 week for DVDs (some 3 week sets)
Renewals are possible and may be done by phone, in person, or on-line (unless someone else has requested the item you have out) All Branch Libraries provide an after-hours book return. There are fees for overdue items, so please don’t forget to return your library items!
How do I find what I am looking for?
