Bruce County Public Library and Canadian Red Cross Bring Be Prepared Workshops to Bruce County

In collaboration with Bruce County Emergency Management and the Canadian Red Cross, the Bruce County Public Library is proud to announce its participation in Emergency Preparedness Week, taking place May 5-11. As part of this collaboration, they will host eight Be Prepared Workshops throughout Bruce County.

The workshops will be run by experienced Red Cross presenters who will share invaluable insights into best practices to prepare for any emergency, from natural disasters to unexpected events. Patrons will gain life-saving knowledge and skills to effectively manage an emergency.

One of the key highlights of the workshops will be a guide on assembling a 72-hour emergency kit. This resource helps equip individuals and families with the essentials to sustain themselves following a disaster.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Red Cross to provide patrons with the necessary tools and knowledge to stay safe during an emergency. By hosting these workshops in each of our service areas, we can help the community receive access to invaluable resources to help handle any emergency,” said Program Coordinator, Nancy Kuhl.

The Be Prepared Workshops will take place at eight BCPL Branches, making it convenient for patrons to participate. Dates, times, and locations for the workshops can be found on the BCPL website’s Online Calendar. There is no cost to attend, but registration is required, you can register by directly contacting the Branch you would like to attend.
